Guests sitting down to an elegant long-table dinner along the Tsawwassen First Nation boardwalk this August will enjoy a most memorable evening. Beyond that, though, they'll be building the future of long-term care in Delta.
The Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation's inaugural ‘Supper at Sunset’ fundraising dinner is planned for Aug. 22. The new, one-of-a-kind outdoor fundraising event supports the Foundation’s ‘Coming Home’ capital campaign – the largest in the Foundation’s 35-year history – in support of the new Beedie Long-Term Care Centre.
Hosted by Tsawwassen's John Gross, founder and CEO of Peak Products, the chic new summer tradition will welcome up to 250 guests to enjoy the long-table dinner and entertainment.
"We invite you to join us for this one-of-a-kind, magical evening in support of a great cause," says Pam Paton, Chair, DHCH Foundation, thanking John and the Peak Products team for creating and covering event costs, and Tsawwassen First Nation for hosting at their beautiful boardwalk. With Peak Products' support, every dollar raised through ticket sales and raffles will go directly to building the Beedie Long-Term Care Centre.
Diners will enjoy live entertainment, cool drinks, great conversation, and a long-table picnic-style supper while enjoying magnificent views of the Salish Sea.
Coming Home: A campaign to transform long-term care in Delta
Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation is partnering with Fraser Health to deliver a new, state-of-the-art, 200-bed, long-term care community for Delta’s seniors.
“Mountain View Manor, our current long-term care facility, is filled with dedicated staff who go above and beyond for our loved ones. However, this facility was built 45 years ago and in that time, the model for long-term care has evolved. We need to meet that change,” Foundation Executive Director Lisa Hoglund said in announcing the campaign.
As the hospital’s largest infrastructure investment since 1980, the new residence will embrace resident- and family-centred care principles, implementing best practices and innovative care models from around the world.
“This innovative, new long-term care home will be a place for purposeful living. A place that honours every story. A place that keeps our loved ones in our community, close to us. A place that truly feels like coming home."
