The City of White Rock has set a date for its fall byelection.

Council voted unanimously at Monday's meeting (June 23) to support Mayor Megan Knight's motion to set the date for Saturday Sept. 27.

The byelection is to fill the seat vacated by Coun. Ernie Klassen, who was elected as MP for South Surrey-White Rock in the federal election on April 28.

Klassen had been elected to city council for a first term in 2022.
