• Staying Connected: Preventing Social Isolation and Loneliness: Nov. 15, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at George Mackie Library, 8440 112th St. This interactive presentation with Seniors First BC introduces the importance of staying connected, discussing issues of social isolation and loneliness, the correlation between social isolation and decreased well-being, and how we can do our part to stay connected with loved ones in our lives. This program is suitable for seniors and their families.
• Artisan Holiday Craft Market: Nov. 16, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 11285 Bond Blvd. The North Delta Artisan & Gift Market and Sunshine Hills Elementary PAC are once again joining up to host the Artisan Holiday Craft Market. There will be over 34 artisans at the market selling a thoughtfully curated selection of items at attractive prices, including holiday decor and gifts, jewellery, pottery, everyday and holiday-themed cards and prints, wood crafts and decor, apothecary items, soaps, felted gifts, candles and rollers, assorted baked goods, stuffies and dolls, doll clothes, sewed items, painted glassware, ever-living florals, crocheted items, photography, art gifts, honey and bees wax items, vintage teas and items, stickers, cups, apparel and leather items. Bring the kids (and a camera) for a photo with Santa and Mrs Claus. Cici FacePainting will be here, and food selections will include Beavertails and the famous Pork Mafia food trailer. The first 150 people will receive a reuseable shopping bag, and there will be raffle prizes as well! Raffle proceeds will support Nick's Nook free food pantries in the community. Admission is free. • Parents as Education & Career Coaches Online Seminar: Nov. 20, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. • Music in the Neighbourhood: Nov. 24, 6:30 p.m. at North Delta Centre for the Arts, 11425 84th Ave. Please join us at our sixth free charitable concert performed by local children and youth (ages 5-18) with piano, harp, violin, viola, and cello, and featuring classical music repertoire and world-famous music. We have both solo performance and ensembles, and many of our young musicians have studied music for over 10 years and finished RCM ARCT level. Admission is free, but we are raising funds for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation's Balding for Dollars program to help oncology kids fight cancer and your donation would be greatly appreciated. • Brent Butt: Jan. 18, 7:30 p.m. at Genesis Theatre, 5005 45th Ave. Canadian comedy icon Brent Butt returns to Ladner in the new year, bringing his stand-up comedy back to the Genesis Theatre stage. • Trinity Lutheran Church Christmas Bake Sale and Raffle: Nov. 30, 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11040 River Rd.; North Delta’s Trinity Lutheran Church is having their big Christmas bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 30 in the church hall. This popular annual event features lots of baking (including Norwegian rosettes and krumkake) along with a variety of home-baked and home-canned goods; a raffle for prizes including gift baskets, artwork and gorgeous hand-made quilts; and lunch featuring home-made soup, sandwiches and dessert available after the sale for $7 per person. With three thrilling 20-minute speed-building challenges, kids will put their ingenuity and engineering skills to the test.
• Mackie Library Teen Advisory Group: First Thursday of the month (Dec. 5), 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at George Mackie Library, 8440 112th St. TAG members help library staff develop teen-oriented programs, assist at library events, and act as library representatives in North Delta's teen community.
