• Celebrating 115 years of the Delta Chamber of Commerce: May 22, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Delta Chamber of Commerce, 6201 60th Ave. Since 1910, the Delta Chamber of Commerce has proudly served as the voice of business in Delta and Tsawwassen First Nation. For 115 years and counting, we have been dedicated to supporting trade, industry, civic development and community welfare, helping businesses across Annacis, Boundary Bay Airport, Deltaport, Ladner, North Delta, Tilbury and Tsawwassen thrive. We continue to champion the growth and prosperity of businesses throughout our region, advocating for our members at both the provincial and national levels through our partnerships with the B.C. and Canadian chambers of commerce. • Ladner May Days: May 23-25 at Memorial Park, 5010 47th Ave. Catch all the fun filled events and activities during Ladner May Days. Events are held all weekend at Memorial Park, just steps away from our historic Ladner Village. Ladner May Days is one of British Columbia's largest free family fairs, featuring live bands, free entertainment, a market, carnival rides, and a beer garden for the adults. The fair offers a wide variety of entertainment and activities for all ages, right in the heart of Ladner, including a "Musical Icons Through the Ages - from Adele to ZZ Top"-themed parade at noon on Sunday. • Delta Concert Band 60th Anniversary Performance: May 24, 2:30 p.m. at Seaquam Secondary School, 11584 Lyon Rd. The Delta Concert Band are celebrating 60 years of performing with a special concert in the Seaquam auditorium. We hope you can come! Admission is by donation; more info at deltaconcertband.ca.
• The Bradley/McGillivray Band: May 24, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Red Barn at Southlands Tsawwassen, 6333 Market Ave. Delta's newest music series showcasing talent and artistry in the community, The Red Barn Music Series presents Bradley/McGillivray! Hip, grit, power and tenderness – The Bradley/McGillivray Band is one of Vancouver’s live music treasures, fusing blues, jazz, funk and gospel into their signature brand of soul. Ruth McGillivray’s knock-you-flat vocals are a force to be reckoned with. Tastefully interwoven with Sheldon Bradley’s unique blend of city-fied jazz and gritty blues, these two will will slay you one moment and break your country heart the next. The whole sound is rounded out by an inventive rhythm section featuring funk-masters Paul Freeman on bass and Hoto Parker on drums and percussion. For Bradley/McGillivray, the blues are more about attitude and resilience than genre. Influenced by artists as diverse as BB King, Jon Cleary, Janis Joplin, Merle Haggard, Aretha Franklin and Etta James, they showcase an eclectic repertoire of original music and fresh takes on old favourites. They’re tight and polished, but connection trumps script — expect warmth, laughter and authenticity in every show. A band of music lovers for an audience of music lovers. Doors open for this all-ages show at 1:15 p.m. Tickets are available in advance (via eventbrite.ca) and at the door. Drinks will be sold at the bar (card and cash) inside the barn. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This concert coincides with the first Southlands Farmer's Market of the 2025 season, so come on down and enjoy this day's events with all your family and friends!

• Anna Sagalova: May 31, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lighthouse Church Ladner, 5545 Ladner Trunk Rd. Don’t miss renowned Ukrainian concert pianist Anna Sagalova’s return engagement to Ladner! A concert pianist, educator and producer with two albums to her name, Sagalova fled Kharkiv in the early weeks of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and arrived in Vancouver in the summer of 2022. Described as “a brilliant pianist with a great vitality” by Vancouver International School of Music director Eugene Skovorodnikov, Sagalova is a laureate of a number of competitions in Italy, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Canada and Germany, and was granted the status of Honored Artist of Ukraine by former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko for her achievements and contributions to Ukrainian culture. • Delta Ukulele Circle: First Saturday of the month (June 7), 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at North Delta Centre for the Arts, 11425 84th Ave. Led by Gary Cyr, the Delta Ukulele Circle is an enthusiastic, welcoming and supportive crowd of music lovers with an appreciation for the ukulele. This tiny instrument provides a unique opportunity for individuals wanting to play and enjoy music together with others in a very social setting. Admission is $5. It's dinner and a show as international award-winning Elvis tribute artist Ben Klein brings "Paradise Hawaiian Style" to East Delta Hall for one night only. • A 1920s Murder Mystery: May 31, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Red Barn at Southlands Tsawwassen, 6333 Market Ave. Step into the Roaring ‘20s and experience a thrilling night of mystery, jazz, and intrigue at Pansy May Stuttards’ infamous cabaret on the Tsawwassen-Point Roberts border. Forty-year-old Jim Devine has moved back in with his mom...he’s divorced, he’s getting his life back together, but it's taken some time — five years of time! Well, the clock is running out, things are changing, his mom’s dating the gardener, and Jim has his work cut out for him. A story about change, and love, and new beginnings. • Mackie Library Teen Advisory Group: First Thursday of the month (June 5), 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at George Mackie Library, 8440 112th St. TAG members help library staff develop teen-oriented programs, assist at library events, and act as library representatives in North Delta's teen community. Monthly meetings are a time to socialize and plan ahead. Membership is a resumé booster and helps earn volunteer hours. Did we mention that there's free food? • Kennedy Dinner Dance: May 31 at Kennedy Seniors Recreation Centre, 11760 88th Ave. Roxanne will tempt your taste buds with a delicious hot meal, and the ever-popular Whiskey Bent band will be back to play our favourite tunes. • Yin Yoga: Every Monday, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Deltassist, 9097 120th St. The main goal of Yin Yoga is to open joints, stretch deep tissue and release deep, long held emotion. In Yin Yoga we learn how to better listen to our bodies, by allowing ourselves to slow down enough to listen to the clues from the unconscious mind of what is actually going on we learn everything we need to know. Note: You will want to have a few pillows (couch, bed or throw pillows will work fine), as well as a blanket or two to ensure you are nice and comfy as well as fully supported for your practice.
