A record $101,600 was raised at the sixth annual A Taste of Reach fundraiser earlier this month.
Proceeds from the event, held on Nov. 7 at North Delta's Tasty Indian Bistro, will support counselling services provided by Reach Child and Youth Development Society.
“We are so grateful for Tasty Indian Bistro and all of our sponsors, donors, volunteers and guests for their generosity and care for children and families in our community,” Reach events co-ordinator Tamara Veitch said in a press release.
The high-energy evening featured the talents of emcee Erin Cebula (former host of Entertainment Tonight Canada) and guest auctioneer Ian Paton (MLA for Delta South), plus presentations from Reach parent and board member Christine Sutherland, counsellor Japneet Parmar and family navigator Pindi Mann explained specialized mental health supports that are vital for improving quality of life for vulnerable children and families.
Notable guests included Delta Mayor George Harvie and councillors Dylan Kruger and Rod Binder; and Surrey councillors Linda Annis and Mike Bose.
In its press release, Reach Society extended its gratitude to host Tasty Indian Bistro, presenting sponsor Delta Agricultural Society, platinum sponsor Sedgwick Strategies and returning gold Sponsor Realco Properties for their generous community support.
