Ray Shepherd Elementary has an upcoming anniversary party on May 8, 2025 to celebrate 75 years.

A South Surrey elementary school is about to celebrate providing education to students for three-quarters of a century.

In recognition for the 75 year anniversary, Ray Shepherd Elementary will be hosting a party at the school on May 8. Organizers are hoping anyone with memories, new or old, taking classes at the South Surrey school will be able to attend.

"We are hoping to connect with alumni that still live on the Peninsula and would like to come on the 8th," shared Sharon Baxter, Parental Advisory Committee member at Ray Shepherd.

Admission is free to the event, taking place from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., but food and activities in store will be available upon ticket purchases, with the contributed money going towards a new playground at the school.

The PAC is also looking for community members to submit any photos they may have form the school to illustrate the long history.

Those with photos interested in submitting can email them to PAC.rayshepherd@gmail.com and tickets for the party can be purchased on-site the day-of.
