Delta police say an Ontario man has been arrested for alleged drug possession and trafficking.
According to a Delta Police Department press release, an officer watched an alleged drug transaction occur at the driver’s door of a car that illegally parked in the 5200-block of 8A Avenue in Tsawwassen at around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26.
"The officer conducted a vehicle stop and observed multiple additional indicators that the driver was trafficking controlled drugs," the release states.
The driver, a 20-year-old man from Ontario, was arrested, and police say a search of the car and the driver located a large amount of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, cash, weapons, jerry cans of gasoline, and a balaclava.
Police say the man has been released on an undertaking while the investigation continues.
"A report to Crown counsel will follow, recommending charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose," the release states.
