The southbound slow lane of Highway 99 will be closed through the George Massey Tunnel overnight Wednesday (July 24) as BC Hydro crews continue to repair equipment in the tunnel.
The closure will be in place from 10 p.m. on Wednesday night until 5 a.m. on Thursday morning (July 25). Drivers can expect minor delays and are asked to use caution through the work zone.
Updates on the closure will be posted to drivebc.ca.
The southbound slow lane was the subject of a 24-hour closure in mid April to allow BC Hydro to permanently repair equipment in the tunnel, addressing a temporary repair completed on March 20 that at the time required also an immediate slow-lane closure.
The ministry noted in April that there is no public safety issue relating to the repair.
