The City of White Rock is working away at clearing all roads in the city after another snowfall.

With another snowfall overnight across the Surrey, White Rock and Delta region, the roads are largely looking clear.

The snow falling down in the area seems to pause and then continue every so often the last several days, with residents most recently waking this morning to a light dusting over their cars to remove before taking to the roads.

In White Rock, Priority 1 and 2 streets were prioritized for clearing and by Thursday afternoon, all major roads had been cleared and open, the city's spokesperson Robyn Barra confirmed.

"Crews will continue to work throughout the day to plow and salt roads throughout the city," she added.

"If your vehicle is not properly equipped for winter weather, you are being asked to stay home."

Residents and businesses in all areas are reminded to clear the sidewalks from snow and ice that surrounds their property. For Surrey residents who fail to do so, the fine is $55 per day it is not cleared and $80 per day for businesses.

In White Rock, individuals are asked to clear the snow by 10 a.m. following snowfall. If residents fail to do so, they could face a fine of $60 or $35 if paid within seven days.

Meanwhile, in Delta, businesses and commercial property owners are required to clear snow from sidewalks near their property within 24 hours or face a fine of $150. Residential property owners are not required to clear snow from the sidewalks near their properties but are encouraged to.

Waste collection in Surrey is still being impacted due to the snow and ice, with the city stating that crews will be making up missed routes throughout the weekend.

Over the weekend may see more snowfall in the region, according to Environment Canada, but sun and cloudy weather are also in the forecast.
