• Day at the Farm: Sept. 7, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Westham Island Herb Farm, 4690 Kirkland Rd. Come join us for a fun-filled Day At The Farm presented by Delta Farmland and Wildlife Trust. Get ready for a day of fresh air, sunshine and farm adventures. Learn about farming in Delta on a guided hay-wagon farm tour and watch the plow horses as farmers demonstrate what it took to plow a field before we had tractors. PWRUP is a Canadian tribute act dedicated to embodying the rock n’ roll prowess of AC/DC. • Exploring Mushrooms Through Our Senses: Aug. 31, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at The Red Barn at Southlands, 6333 Market Ave. in Tsawwassen. In this unique workshop hosted by Southlands Farming and Food Foundation with Isabelle Kirouac and Willoughby Arevalo, you will get to know mushrooms through touch, smell, sounds, taste and sight. Through playful, educational and artistic prompts, you will learn to recognize fungi through touch, identify their visual features, discover the surprising diversity of their aromas using an aromatic fungi wheel, listen to their sounds through biosonification, and enjoy edible mushroom flavoured snacks and tea.
