City of Surrey wins 2024 CPWA National Public Works Week award

The City of Surrey has received the 2024 CPWA National Public Works Week award for communities with a population over 25,000.

The City of Surrey has received the 2024 Canadian Public Works Association National Public Works Week award for communities with a population over 25,000.

This recognition highlights the city’s exceptional commitment to promoting the importance of public works and its dedication to community service, the city said.

"We are honoured to receive this award, recognizing the City of Surrey's unwavering commitment to public works and community service,” said Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke in a release.

“Providing essential services to our residents is a top priority for us, and our dedicated public works staff are the backbone of this effort. Their tireless work ensures that our infrastructure is safe, reliable and efficient, and we're grateful for their dedication to making Surrey a better place to live. This award is a testament to their hard work and a reflection of the City's values of excellence, transparency, and community-focused service."

Surrey looks forward to participating in National Public Works Week again next year, the release said, scheduled for May 18-24, 2025, and continues to thank its dedicated public works staff and engaged community for their support.
