The Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society and its partners are inviting the community to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with them and the City of Surrey on Saturday, May 10.
This year’s theme, Shared Spaces, explores how we, as a society and as individuals, can shape the future of our cities and communities to create a bird-friendly world, a Society release notes.
Festivities will begin at 7:30 a.m. May 10 at Elgin Heritage Park in South Surrey with a guided bird walk, followed by a full day of family activities, crafts, live owl presentations and expert talks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All ages are welcome.
Visitors are encouraged to bring friends, family, binoculars, water, snacks and to dress appropriately for the weather.
The event takes place at Elgin Heritage Park, located at 13568 Crescent Rd.
