• Christmas Tree Chipping: Jan. 8 and 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sungod Recreation Centre, 7815 112th Street; The North Delta Lions Club will once again be providing Christmas tree chipping services by donation, with all proceeds going back into the community through equipment provided for the Hillside Boys and Girls Club as well as many bursaries. The club is also hosting tree chipping that weekend at Ladner Memorial Park (5010 47th Avenue), while the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions will be chipping trees at South Delta Recreation Centre (1720 56th Street). COVID-19 protocols will be in place at all three locations.

Come join us in a day of incredible learning at the 3rd Annual Delta Youth Leadership Conference. We have a full day lined up with some incredible speakers in the morning — award-winning entrepreneur and author Kendal Netmaker; DJ Baron S, the first female DJ for the Vancouver Canucks; and bestselling author, personal development coach and founder of Champion UP Adrian Starks — followed by breakout sessions in the afternoon. • From Safety to Self-Compassion: Thursdays, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Deltassist, North Delta office, 9097 120th St.; This group is for women who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The group will create a safe environment for you to give voice to your story and feel validated. You will be encouraged to create your own internal and external safety. The group will cover topics like establishing boundaries, consolidating a sense of self, reflecting on the journey and cultivating a future from here on.
