Delta Idol is coming back to the Tsawwassen Arts Centre on Friday, Feb. 24.

Ten of the best youth singers in the municipality will be competing for the top spot in the fourth annual competition. Three of the contestants are from North Delta, the rest are from Ladner and Tsawwassen.

Singers between 12- and 19-years-old auditioned for the local talent competition, sending in video and audio recordings through YouTube, or handing over USBs and CDs. Although performers only needed to be able to sing, many played their own accompaniment in their audition tapes.

The 10 finalists chosen for this year’s competition are Lexine Ashe, Arica Dionne, Kirra Dodd, Jamaica Gagajena, Ella Rose Gauld, Emmett Hatleid, Grace Hight, Ashley Kuzyk, Hunter Lang, Angelica Largo, Bryce Malenstyn and Seiko Murphy.

Judges will choose the top three performers based on their vocal ability and performance quality, as well as their overall likability.

Delta Idol will be at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre on Feb. 24 starting at 7:30 p.m. The competition will also feature a performance by last year’s top three singers: Taylor Dianne Robinson, Trista Monet, and Cresina Cole.

Tickets for Delta Idol are $10 and available in advance by calling 604-943-9437.
