The White Rock RCMP is inviting residents to share their concerns and understanding of policing in the seaside city.
According to information posted to the city’s website (whiterockcity.ca), responses to an online survey that went live Monday (May 29) will “help build a framework for future policing initiatives to be considered in a three year plan.”
“That partnership between community and police is so important,” White Rock RCMP Sgt. Rob Dixon said.
“We’re trying to determine what our detachment focuses on for the next few years and it’s important to get that community consultation.”
The survey will also provide the detachment commander with community perceptions of policing in the city and facilitate communication between the police and the public, the city notice states.

There are a total of eight questions on the survey, asking participants everything from their definition of community policing to what they feel is the biggest challenge facing residents in relation to crime and/or antisocial behaviour.
Available on the Talk White Rock platform, the survey is to remain open until 4 p.m. June 12.
