Reach Child and Youth Development Society (REACH) successfully raised funds for speech therapy sessions to support children with complex developmental needs in their annual Gift of Speech appeal. Local businesses and individuals helped build the total to $32,588. Notably, the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society made a substantial donation of $10,500 on December 22, 2023, while Fraserway RV, a dedicated Gift of Speech donor, contributed $5,000 for the third consecutive year during the same week.

Anwar Ul Haq, the REACH EI Therapies program coordinator, emphasized the profound impact of this support on children, stating, “Early intervention in speech therapy is the key to unlocking a world of communication for every child. By addressing challenges at the onset, we empower them to express themselves and connect with others, laying the foundation for a lifetime of meaningful communication. Your support transforms lives and speaks volumes about the compassion that unites us in creating a world where every voice is heard and celebrated.”

REACH’s Speech-Language Pathologists conduct one-on-one weekly sessions with children, utilizing augmentative tools such as iPads to help children communicate for the first time. The non-profit organization expressed immense gratitude to all Gift of Speech donors who assisted in supporting local children with additional needs.
