In time for Mother’s Day, Seaquam Secondary is the site of an annual sale of hanging flower baskets Saturday, May 13, in a fundraiser for this year’s Dry Grad celebrations for students.

The “4 in 1” event also involves a car wash, bottle drive, a pancake breakfast starting at 9:30 a.m. and the arrival of the Pork Mafia food truck in time for lunch.

It’s best to pre-order the flower baskets and herb planters by the deadline of May 10, as supply is not guaranteed on the day of sale.

The 12-inch flower baskets are sold for $35, and a herb basket of same size goes for $30. To purchase, e-transfer seaquamdrygrad2023@gmail.com and include your name, email address and type/amount of basket(s) ordered.

Also at the May 13 event, this year’s graduates will be washing cars by donation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and people can drop off their drink containers (bottles, cans and milk jugs — no need to sort) in the school parking lot, 11584 Lyon Rd.

More event details are posted online (https://sites.google.com/view/seaquamdrygrad2023/upcoming-events), where donations to Dry Grad celebrations can be made. The website also highlights a number of sponsors.

This year’s Seaquam Dry Grad event returns to North Delta Recreation Centre on June 10, followed by the commencement ceremony two weeks later.
