Delta Chamber calls for award nominations

The 66th annual Hats Off to Excellence awards will honour Delta residents and businesses

The Delta Chamber of Commerce is calling for nominations for its 66th annual Hats Off to Excellence awards.

The annual awards ceremony recognize Delta businesses, organizations and individuals for their accomplishments over the past year.

This year, the categories include:

• Micro Business of the Year, for a business of one to four employees that has broken into a new market, established a new technology or reached a significant new level;

• Small Business of the Year, for a business of five to 49 employees that has broken into a new market, established a new technology or reached a significant new level;

• Large Business of the Year, for a business of 50 or more employees that has broken into a new market, established a new technology or reached a significant new level;

• Green Business of the Year; for a business that demonstrates leadership in energy conservation and green business practices;

• Rising Star Business of the Year, for a business that has been established in the last one to five years and shows innovation adn future growth potential;

• Employee Extraordinaire of the Year, for an individual who promotes team-work in their organization, facilitates innovation and has been recognized by their employer as making a significant impact;

• Special Events and Tourism, for an organization or individual that has shown excellence in attracting visitors and creating product that contributes to Delta’s image;

• Volunteer of the Year, for an individual who has volunteered signigicant time to a Delta-based organization and has helped make the community stronger; and

• Citizen of the Year, for an individual who has shown leadership, dedication and service within Delta.

The deadline for receiving award nominations is Friday, Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m. Nominations can be made online at deltachamber.ca/nomination-form.

Award finalists will be invited to a gala dinner and ceremony on Friday, Nov. 24 at the Tsawwassen Springs Ballroom.

The winner of each award will be announced to an audience of local business and community leaders.
