A car drove into a tree this morning in Surrey, and a man was found unconscious inside of the vehicle.

Around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, emergency crews responded to reports of a car that crashed into a tree.

When crews arrived, they located the drive suffering from full cardiac arrest. Surrey Fire, who arrived first at the scene, started performing CPR on the victim.

Paramedics then treated the victim before he was rushed to Royal Columbian Hospital. The man is in serious condition.

A witness at the scene said that the crash may have been the result of a medical issue since the damage to the car isn’t consistent with a high-impact collision.

However, a witness did say that Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team arrived at the scene following the collision.

More to come.
