Patricia Cano plays Marie-Louise in Arts Club Theatre Company production of The (Post) Mistress

After dazzling Arts Club Theatre Company audiences in Vancouver in February 2016, actress Patricia Cano returns to her role in the touring production of The (Post) Mistress.

The production runs at the Surrey Arts Centre from Jan. 11-21.

Cano plays the charming and effervescent Marie-Louise, a postal worker in the fictional town of Lovely (in francophone Northern Ontario) who seems to know everything about everyone –and is eager to share all the gossip.

The (Post) Mistress is uniquely Canadian cabaret full of music and charm.

Cano sings in English, French and Cree, and is accompanied by piano and saxophone.

Cano plays Marie-Louise in all performances except the matinée performance on Jan. 21, when Cailin Stadnyk performs in the role.

“The (Post) Mistress is a beautiful musical about the size of the human spirit,” says director John Cooper. “It celebrates transcendence and resilience in the human experience, and (writer) Tomson (Highway) creates remarkably fresh imagery that informs and frames both the story and the music.”

The production includes special performances:
