The Cloverdale Christmas Hamper program has more good news to share.

In late October, the Cloverdale Reporter reported that the hamper program found a home for the holidays, thanks to the generosity of the Cloverdale Rodeo, which offered the use of the Agriplex at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds at no charge.

Now, another Cloverdale business has stepped up to the plate. Zinetti Foods, a manufacturer of frozen gourmet pasta and entrees, has offered to donate 600 lasagnas to the hamper program.

Zinetti Foods has a long tradition of community involvement.

“We like to support the local food banks here in the Lower Mainland, and the community events,” said Maurizio Zinetti, founder of Zinetti Foods.

Cloverdale residents may recognize Zinetti’s name from the Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser – they provide the chili for volunteers and walkers – or they may have seen their lasagna on the shelves of a local Costco, which they’ve had a partnership with for nearly 30 years.

Zinetti Foods has also been a longtime supporter of the Surrey Food Bank, BC Children’s Hopsital, Canuck Place, and the Pacific Community Church’s Cloverdale Community Kitchen.

This year, Zinetti was happy to announce they will be donating to the Cloverdale Christmas Hamper as well. For each hamper, which number around 300 in total, Zinetti Foods will provide a two-pack of lasagnas.

“We’ve been in Cloverdale for 25 years now, and we love to give back to the community,” said Zinetti. “The community has been really good to us these last 25 years.”

“We look forward to being there with our truck. Anything to help the community, Zinetti’s will always be there,” he said.
